History
In the 1920s, Tijuana in Mexico was prospering because of the American Prohibition Law.
Many people were visiting Tijuana, a place where they could drink alcohol, from the state of California next to Tijuana.
On July 4, 1924, the Caesar’s Restaurant in Tijuana was full.
There was a shortage of food, but in order not to disappoint the customer, he made a salad in front of the customer using limited food and provided it.
The salad made at this time is the original Caesar salad.
Anchovy
In 1926, Caesar’s younger brother Alex began to work together, and he added anchovies to Caesar’s salad.
This salad has become popular with many people. In time, it was called “Caesar Salad” and became known around the world under this name.
Thoughts
The restaurant is still open and the recipe is open to visitors.
But, the recipes released by the visitors differed from person to person.
This is probably because the tastes and weighing methods of ingredients differ from country to country, and they are adjusted to the tastes they prefer.
This time I compared recipes published by various people.
And, I adjusted them and made this salad. It’s similar to the Caesar salad I’ve eaten, but it’s a different one.
※I didn’t use anchovies.

Recipe of Caesar salad
Ingredients

- 5 g garlic
- 1 tbsp mustard
- 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp lime juice
- 1 soft boiled egg yolk

- 1/8 c parmigiano reggiano / grated
- Free garlic toast
Instructions
- Put the garlic, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, black pepper, lime juice and egg yolks in a bowl. Mix well.
- Add olive oil while mixing. Mix well.
- Add the Parmigiano Reggiano. Mix well.
- Add lettuce. Mix well.
- Put lettuce on a plate. Sprinkle with Parmigiano Reggiano. Place the bread.Finish.
